WHEN: Thursday, July 17 HOW: Wristbands will be distributed from 7:00 AM on Tuesday,
July 15 until 8:00 AM on Thursday, July 17. Auditioners will
not be permitted to camp out; therefore, once they obtain their
wristbands, they will be asked to return to the Cow Palace on Thursday, July 17.

Auditions for the eighth season of American Idol will be visiting Eight
(8) cities including first timmers Salt Lake City, Utah as well as Puerto Rico. Once again,
auditioners will have an extraordinary opportunity to
perform before millions of TV viewers and become
household names, with one winning the coveted
American Idol title and a major recording contract.

For the first time in its seven-year history, this summer
"American Idol" will visit
Salt Lake City, Utah to audition contestants for next season's show.
The show's producer, Nigel Lythgoe, told Utah Fox affiliate KSTU Channel 13
that he was impressed with the level of talent in Utah. His other Fox reality
show, "So You Think You Can Dance," stopped in Salt Lake City last winter for
this upcoming season, and it's rumored that a number of Utahns were picked
for the next round of auditions in Las Vegas. "He said they had so
many great singers and dancers there that they will be stopping
there [for "Idol"]," a Fox spokeswoman said Tuesday. Season 8 Auditions in Salt Lake City Utah It is said to be at the Energy Solutions Arena (ESA)

Omaha, Nebraska: Qwest Center Omaha - August 10 & August 11
Atlanta, Georgia: Georgia Dome - August 14 & August 15
Charleston, South Carolina: North Charleston Coliseum - August 18 & August 19
Miami, Florida: American Airlines Arena - August 22 & August 23
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Wachovia Center - August 27 & August 28
Contestants were required to be
between the ages of 16 and 28 on July 28, 2007,
and
eligible to work in the United States.
You can not compete if
you were a former contestants who reached the top
40 of past seasons, those holding recording or management contracts,
or those who are not US citizens or landed immigrants (i.e. permanent residents)
